The Imperative
“Put your phone somewhere where you are not going to forget it, I asked you three times already!”…groan out loud and roll your eyes after hearing THIS for the third time. Bite your lip wondering if the pre-airport panic will last much longer. Shift your weight from foot to foot while waiting for them to leave. Take a peak downstairs to see how the packing ordeal is coming along. Sneak back into your room hoping they didn’t notice you and ask for your opinion on what to take and what not to take. Cringe as they argue about what goes where in the suitcase. Remember that they are leaving soon and all will be peaceful again. Reminisce about the days when it was just your and your mother all alone without this third interloper ruining your lives. Chuckle out loud as you hear: ” take out the goat cheese, I don’t want the goat cheese!”. Shake your head as you wonder why food is necessary to take to a getaway island owned by France. Cringe in disgust after remembering that some people just don’t trust anything that isn’t “MERICA!” Contemplate any number of witty remarks about said person and their lack of brain. Settle down with one happy thought, that they will be gone soon and peace will reign again.
